The mission of the Dixon Grove Baptist Church Pastoral Search Committee is to seek God’s guidance through prayer, scripture, and unity as we identify the pastor whom God has already chosen to lead our congregation.

About Dixon Grove
Our Preamble
Having grouped ourselves together as a band of Baptized Believers in Jesus Christ, we hereby organize ourselves as a missionary Baptist Church.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Dixon Grove Baptist Church is to advance the Kingdom of God as revealed to us in the scriptures of the Holy Bible. We seek to attain this by:
- Worshipping together on a regular basis
- Promoting the preaching of the Gospel
- Advancing Christian Education
- Supporting Home and Foreign Missions
- Watching over and aiding one another in Christian love
The Position
We are searching for a Pastor whose role will extend beyond Sunday preaching. The pastoral candidate must demonstrate love for God, the church, and the community.
Biblical Preaching & Teaching
Committed to communicating biblical truths to the church body, helping them to understand doctrine, grow spiritually, and apply lessons to their daily lives — including and not limited to worship service, prayer service, Bible Study, Sunday School, etc.
Pastoral Care & Counseling
Nurturing and loving the church on a personal level, which requires deep empathy and availability to guide congregants through grief, crisis, and personal challenges, as well as officiating ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, etc.
Church Leadership & Administration
Serving as a visionary leader, guiding the church’s direction — managing church operations, resolving conflicts to maintain a healthy church body, and developing systems that help the church fulfill its mission in a collective effort with other church leaders, including the Deacons, Trustees, Ministers, and the congregation.
Prayer & Spiritual Devotion
A deep personal communion with God. By consistently practicing spiritual disciplines such as prayer and meditation, a pastor guards against burnout and maintains the spiritual health required to lead others.
Discipleship & Equipping
Rather than doing all the work of the church alone, training and empowering believers — identifying, mentoring, and releasing individuals into their spiritual gifts and ministries by fostering a culture of prayer, spiritual growth, and biblical discipleship across all generations.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Baptism by immersion as a professing believer
- Agreement with Baptist doctrine and practices
- Ordination in the Baptist tradition, or in process
- High school diploma
Preferred
- Experience leading a congregation through growth, transition, or revitalization
- Experience with multi-platform ministry (social media, live stream worship, etc.)
- Master’s Degree in Divinity

Selection Process
All packets will be reviewed. When the three (3) final candidates have been selected, the Pastoral Search Committee will contact the candidates to complete the background screening.
