Pastor James E. Harris

Rev. Harris is the Pastor of Dixon Grove Baptist Church, “the Fastest Growing Church in Jonesboro.” God has guided him in this ministry since 1980. As he always says, “I am just an errand boy for the Lord, bringing the Good News that our Lord STILL LIVES - I won’t complain” and “What God Has For Me, Is For Me”

 

Education

 

Pastor Harris is a product of Fort Valley State University; he attended Columbia Broadcasting School; and is a 2002 graduate of Carver Bible College.

Political & Community Involvement

 

Pastor Harris was chosen by Congressman David Scott to represent the 13th District in Washington, D.C. for the 2005 WHCOA (White House Conference on Aging). Pastor Harris also served as the President of the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County (ACMCC) for two years (2012-2014).

 

Family

 

Pastor Harris has been happily married to his wife, Sylvia, since 1975, and they are blessed to have three sons; Jamal (Che`), LeRon, Sylvarus and two wonderful granddaughters (Rylyn and Marlee).

 

After all of this, Pastor Harris knows and acknowledges with his heart, soul and mind, that “I never would have made it without Jesus”.
